Ripon Reds J.F.C. was founded in 1996 by Kevin Pomfret, with the aim to provide football for young people from the Ripon Street area of Preston.

Our club is not just about developing control of a football, it is about giving children a well rounded start in their physical, social and educational development. We acknowledge that sport is a great motivator for young people, keeping them healthy and disciplined. Providing targets to aim for and positive role models – without which children can become vulnerable to anti social behaviour.

Our club is passionate about providing a safe environment for all children. This means that every session a child attends they will be supervised by people who have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), are qualified as a football coach, have attended a safe guarding children workshop and have a Football Association first aid qualification.

We are fortunate to have our own Child Welfare Officer, Bernie Metcalf, who is available to advise and discuss any child related issues.
